HP gets hip

In a recent OMMA (the magazine of media, marketing and advertising) story, writer Liz Tascio describes how HP’s new marketing campaign, “The Computer is Personal Again,” is using a fun blog, videos, user-generated content, an online game show, and other quirky details to attract a younger, hipper buyer.

The campaign, designed by Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, also includes TV commercials featuring celebrities such as rappers Jay-Z and Pharrell Williams and snowboarder Shaun White describing how they use their PCs.

Tascio interviewed our own Lisa Johnson for her take on the campaign, which Lisa praises for its mystery, authentic celebrity endorsements and online launch with sharp, viral content. Read the full story and learn from HP’s successful efforts to reach the Connected Generation.
