Reinventing the Internship: Efficient Teamwork

The Connected Generation Podcast: Reinventing the Internship: Efficient Teamwork, Episode 73Reach Group Podcast1.jpg

In the last installment of our Reinventing the Internship series, Lisa and I present the idea of bringing in a group of interns and giving them the task of creating efficiency within your organization.

We suggest that a company gather a creative team of young hires and give them the challenge of reducing the use of your organization’s most precious resources, be it time, money, communication process, paper, work space, etc. From cutting travel costs to using 15 percent less paper, there are many different problems that this group could tackle.

Inspired by the Donald’s show, The Apprentice, we also thought you could raise the stakes and make things a bit more interesting by turning it into a competition.  Give two teams a similar challenge and award exciting prizes or opportunities to the group that comes up with the hottest, most useful ideas.

Either way, we believe that a young group of interns just might provide the fresh perspective your organization needs to see missed opportunities for internal efficiency.
