In this episode of the Insider podcast series, Lisa describes three different ways to be a valuable connector for your clients and customers:
1. Connect to relevant resources. Providing referrals and references for other businesses that compliment your products or services, is a valuable time-saver for your clients and customers. For instance, if you work at an event center that primarily holds weddings, you may have a vetted resource list of photographers, tailors, gift shops, nearby hotels, travel agents, etc. (Tip: Put it in written form and brand it with your business.)
2. Connect fellow fanatics to each other. As the insider, you’re knowledge of, and access to, the community of passionate people around your industry can help position you as a first stop for people looking to get more involved in your field. Help your clients / customers go deeper into the experience by connecting them to each other. For instance, if you own a bike shop, you might have resources on the group rides in town, the local races, the best trails, etc.
3. Connect people through experiences. Offer insider access through exclusive experiences for the group that you cater to. If you’re a real estate agent, for example, you might host a dinner for your latest home buyers with an up-and-coming designer in the city to give decorating tips and information.
